My wife and I worked for a year in Puebla, Mexico.  Most American Mexican restaurants do not serve real Mexican food, but rather an Americanized version of "Tex-Mex".   Pure Mex serves authentic Mexican dishes that can be very hard to find in the United States, but also has excellent Tex-Mex to cater to American preferences.  Pure Mex breaks stereotypes and is a truly unique dining experience.  Currently they do not have a liquor license (Michigan is a nightmare for obtaining liquor licenses), but they are working on it.   The community should definitely support this restaurant because of its quality and uniqueness.
